MWC Holiday Support Program

Celebrate the Season with Medicine Wheel Clinic

The holiday season can be a joyful time, but for those in recovery from opioid use disorder, it also comes with unique challenges. Triggers such as increased stress, family dynamics, financial pressures, and the abundance of alcohol or other substances at gatherings can make this time of year especially difficult.

At Medicine Wheel Clinic, we’re committed to supporting our patients on their recovery journey. This year, we brought some extra cheer by sharing a Cornucopia of Thanksgiving foods and creating a mini Christmas tree farm with mini ornaments, lights, and garland to brighten the season.  We are also offering group counseling sessions specific to Holidays in Recovery on Saturdays (12/14/24 and 12/21/24) at 8am.

Recovery is about rediscovering joy and building a fulfilling life without substances. Think of it as physical therapy for your brain—cultivating healthy habits and experiences that increase your natural dopamine and serotonin responses. Activities like spending time with loved ones, enjoying good food, getting quality sleep, exercising, achieving goals, and embracing your passions can lead to lasting stability and happiness.

We’re honored to help each patient find their unique path to recovery and achieve their personal goals all year round.

From all of us at Medicine Wheel Clinic: Merry Christmas, Heri za Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah, and warm wishes for a joyous holiday season—however you celebrate!
